Sometimes employees fall short of performance targets or standards of behavior. If they show a sudden drop in performance or they’re underperforming consistently – or if there are questions about their conduct – then you’ve got a problem on your hands as a manager or team leader.
When the problem can’t be fixed, you might need to dismiss the employee. But rather than dismissing them, managers and team leaders have an alternative recourse: put the employee on a performance-improvement plan or performance plan. This course will explain what a performance plan is, and how to implement one.
Why you might need to implement a performance plan for an employee
How to prepare and present a performance plan to an employee
How to implement a performance plan to help an employee become more effective in their role
A performance plan is often seen in a negative light, but it doesn’t have to be this way. A performance plan can be a positive instrument that helps an employee become more effective in their role. Moreover, implementing an employee performance plan may reveal insights which managers can use to improve their operations. This course will guide them on how to put performance plans into action.
